A grand and impressive staircase welcomes the guests and leads them to discover the treasure inside the Villa. The precious portal, the beautiful stucco works, the elegant halls, the terraces with panoramic view, the wrought-iron balustrades, the private chapel and thriving garden make the Villa one of the highest expressions of the Baroque age in Sicily.
The Marquis of Villabianca told that in the heart of the contrada dei Colli, Villa Bonocore – Maletto was built in 1730. Considered one of the most important expressions of the Baroque age in Sicily, the Villa, originally owned by Catalano family, was at first bought by Muzio Spadafora and Branciforte, Prince of Maletto, and then Bonocore got hold of it in the second half of the nineteenth century.
Purchased in 1991 by Barraja family, it was returned by them to the charm of the past thanks to a careful restoration, which has allowed to return a jewel of rare beauty to the city, scenery of the most magnificent expression of the eighteenth century nobility.
Today, the Villa is declared part of our Cultural Heritage.
